Customizing Your Widget's Appearance

Match the chat widget to your brand: colors, launcher position, team identity, welcome message, and an optional status page link.

A widget that looks like it belongs on your site builds more trust than one that looks bolted on. Alps lets you customize its appearance without touching any code.

Appearance settings

  • Brand color – pick from presets or set an exact custom color.

  • Launcher position – bottom-left, bottom-right, or center.

  • Team avatar and name – shown to visitors so the widget feels like a real person is behind it, not a faceless bot.

  • Header image and welcome message – the first thing a visitor sees when they open the widget.

  • Launcher button text – the label on the button that opens the widget.

Linking a status page

If you run a public status page, you can link it from the widget so visitors can check for known outages before starting a new conversation about something your team already knows about.

Where changes apply

Appearance changes apply everywhere the widget is installed, your website, your help center if you've enabled it there, and any app using an official SDK, all at once.
