A trigger is the event that starts an automation. Alps supports triggers from customers, from your own team, and from tickets, so you can automate far more than just chat replies.

Customer-initiated triggers

  • Visits a page on your site

  • Clicks a specific element on your website

  • Opens Messenger

  • Sends their first message

  • Sends any message

  • Submits a form

  • Has been unresponsive for a while

Teammate-initiated triggers

  • Sends any message

  • Adds an internal note

  • Changes a conversation's status

  • Changes a conversation's assignment

Ticket triggers

  • A ticket is created

  • A ticket's status changes

Other triggers

  • A conversation receives a CX score

  • A contact is created

  • A contact attribute changes

  • A custom event you send in

  • A schedule, for automations that run at a set time rather than in response to an action
