Use it to:
Automatically attach a Zoom link when you propose meeting times to a customer from an Inbox conversation.
Add Zoom as a conferencing option when creating events on your Alps Calendar.
Before you begin
You'll need permission to manage integrations in your Alps workspace. If you don't see Settings > Apps & Integrations, or the page tells you that you don't have permission, ask a workspace admin to grant it.
You'll need your own Zoom account to connect (a free Zoom account works, though Zoom's own meeting-length and participant limits still apply on their end).
How it works
Connecting Zoom is personal, not workspace-wide. Each teammate connects their own Zoom account individually, the same way Google Calendar works in Alps. There's no single "workspace Zoom account." This means:
Your teammates each need to connect their own Zoom account if they want to use Zoom for their meetings.
When you schedule a meeting, the Zoom link is created using your connected account, so the meeting shows up as hosted by you in Zoom.
Disconnecting only affects your own account. It doesn't disconnect anyone else's.
Step-by-step instructions
Go to Settings > Apps & Integrations.
Find the Zoom card. If you haven't connected yet, it shows a "Not connected" badge.
Click Connect.
You'll be redirected to Zoom to log in (if you aren't already) and approve access. Review the permissions Zoom lists and click Allow.
You're redirected back to Alps automatically. The Zoom card now shows an "Active" badge and the name of the Zoom account you connected.
What happens next
Once connected, Zoom appears as a conferencing option anywhere you schedule a meeting in Alps:
From a conversation: when you propose meeting times to a customer, choose Zoom as the conferencing type. Alps creates the Zoom meeting and includes the join link automatically.
From your Calendar: when creating an event, pick Zoom from the conferencing options the same way.
If you haven't connected yet and try to pick Zoom while scheduling, Alps shows a "Connect Zoom" prompt right there so you don't have to leave what you're doing.
Tips or best practices
If you use Zoom for most of your meetings, connect it once up front rather than waiting until you're mid-way through scheduling something with a customer.
Disconnecting and reconnecting doesn't affect meetings you've already scheduled. Existing Zoom links keep working. It only affects your ability to create new Zoom links until you reconnect.
Troubleshooting
Issue | What to check |
|---|---|
"You don't have permission to manage integrations" | Ask a workspace admin to grant you integration-management permission. |
Redirected back to Alps with an error after approving on Zoom | Try connecting again, this is usually a one-time hiccup. If it keeps happening, ask your workspace admin to confirm Alps' Zoom app is set up correctly on Zoom's side. |
Zoom option is greyed out or shows "Connect Zoom to use it here" while scheduling | You haven't connected your own Zoom account yet (or it was disconnected). Click through the prompt, or go to Settings > Apps & Integrations to reconnect. |
A teammate can't use Zoom for their meetings even though you connected yours | Zoom is connected per person. Your teammate needs to connect their own Zoom account too. |
